"'This year's ARTERY
theme "ICONS--from Soup to Saints" lets this
collection of regional artists imaginations run
wild. Expect the unexpected with 27 new
artist's interpretations ranging from-- Warhol's
soup can to Our Lady of Perpetual
Procrastination," says ARTERY creatrix Charlotte
Buchanan of the of the new art panels to debut on
September 29th at the ARTERY site at one North
Main parking lot which also hosts the Eureka
Sunday Market and the Lucky 13 Starlight Cinema in
historic downtown Eureka Springs.
"Art is the life blood
of Eureka Springs. We want to keep it flowing
through all areas of the town, and we want to
support our working artists and make Eureka
Springs a regional arts destination."
With Charlotte's
partners in the ARTERY project, Chris Bradley and
Randy Rust, describe the anticipation of each 8 x
4 foot panels-- "It's like Christmas as each panel
arrives on the Saturday of installation. When we
pick the theme our only request to the artist is
to create with passion." This year will include
some of the region's young rising stars, as the
Artery mixes regional masters with our youth.
Artists home bases range from Monticello, Arkansas,
Fayetteville, Bentonville, Springfield, Mo.,
Rogers, and of course-- Eureka Springs.

The ARTERY--a Eureka
Springs, Arkansas not-for-profit artist trust
gives new meaning to urban renewal with its
creation of an open-air gallery.
In its third year,
consisting of four foot by eight foot murals
designed by local and visiting artists. THE ARTERY
showcases Eureka Springs as a community where art
not only impacts aesthetics of environment, but
also provides support for the working artist. This
ever changing living mural rotates upon the sale
of each panel, A portion of the proceeds go
directly to the artist and a portion to an artist
trust. The portion going to the trust is tax
deductible.
These for by eight
foot architectural accents lend themselves to
enhancing not only private settings, but
commercial spaces and are for sale. Art patrons
interested in Artery panels may contact the
artists.
